International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies (IALIS)
2025 Global Call for Nominations and Self-Nominations: Six Annual Awards (with Recognition & Honoraria)

The International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies

(IALIS) hereby announces six annual awards to promote the global development of law and interdisciplinary studies, to foster the emergence of future leaders, to support early-career researchers, and to advance gender equality and academic diversity. Nominations and self-nominations are now open to the global academic community.

Nomination Deadline: June 15, 2025
Announcement of Results: Early July 2025

I. Award Categories

  • Law and Interdisciplinary Studies Next Generation Leader Award

  • Law and Interdisciplinary Studies Early Career Award

  • Law and Interdisciplinary Studies Emerging Scholar Award

  • Women in Law Next Generation Leader Award

  • Women in Law Early Career Award

  • Women in Law Emerging Scholar Award

II. Nomination and Selection Guidelines

Nominations for all awards may be made through two channels:
1) Nomination or Self-nominations by members of the IALIS Councils and Committees, as well as by the IALIS founder. While Council and Committee members are encouraged to self-nominate where appropriate, the IALIS founder will not be considered for any award.

2) Nominations or Self-nominations by IALIS members.

  • Members of the IALIS councils and committees may nominate 1–5 candidates worldwide for each award. Self-nomination is encouraged.

  • All current IALIS members—or those interested in joining—are warmly encouraged to nominate others or self-nominate. Each member may nominate up to 5 candidates per award.

  • Self-nominees should submit their IALIS membership forms, either previously submitted or newly completed, along with their application materials (form available on the official website).

All nominations and applications will undergo a peer evaluation and voting process.

Members of the IALIS councils and committees will be invited to participate in the selection process. Those who submit self-nominations must recuse themselves from the evaluation of that specific award.

The review process will adhere strictly to principles of fairness and conflict-of-interest avoidance. All reviewers must recuse themselves from evaluating any candidates with whom they have a direct conflict of interest, including but not limited to direct advisor-advisee relationships or family ties.

Each award will be reviewed and voted on by members of the IALIS Councils and Committees, together with the IALIS founder. The review and voting process will follow clear criteria, including academic merit, originality, and contributions to law and interdisciplinary studies. Final decisions will be based on the outcome of the vote, following collective deliberation.
